The Celiac Chronicles: Maya’s Classroom Conundrum

I am thrilled to share that our debut children’s book, ‘The Celiac Chronicles: Maya’s Classroom Conundrum’ has officially been published and will be available at Liberty Books very soon!

Maya was inspired by my experiences growing up with Celiac, and seeing it come to life has been amazing.

Growing up with Celiac disease, I often found it difficult to find characters in books who shared the same struggles as me. With autoimmune diseases affecting many children in Pakistan, it's important for young readers to see themselves represented in literature; especially because Celiac is extremely common.

It’s easy for young children with dietary restrictions to feel misunderstood and isolated when there is a lack of education and awareness surrounding their conditions, this is exacerbated in Pakistan as society is so food-centric. Writing this book was my way of making children like me feel seen.
